Guardiola outlines international plans after he leaves Man City

Pep Guardiola says he would like an international manager's job after he leaves Manchester City.

The 50-year old has revealed his plans during an XP Investimentos event. However, he doesn't intend to leave before his deal is up.

Guardiola's contract expires at the end of next season, and the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has indicated he will take a break from the game when he departs the Etihad.

Asked what his next step would be, he said, "An international team, yes. Next step will be an international team, yes, if there is a possibility.

"A national team is a next step.

"I must take a break after seven years [with Manchester City], I need to stop and see, learn from other coaches, and maybe take that path.

"I would like to train in a European Championships Cup, a Copa America, a World Cup..."

Guardiola previously took 12-months out of the game when he left Barça in 2012, before joining Bayern a year later.

He's led City to three Premier League titles following his arrival in Manchester in 2016. They've also won an FA Cup and 4 EFL Cups. But the holy grail remains the Champions League.

They lost last season's final to Chelsea, and Guardiola hasn't lifted European football's most prized piece of silverware since 2011.
