Dundalk drew 1-1 with Qarabag in their Champions League second qualifying round first at Oriel Park last night, keeping alive their chances of reaching the group stages.
Mahir Emreli gave the Azerbaijani champions a fourth-minute lead when his header from Jaime Romero's corner deflected off Patrick Hoban past Gary Rogers in the Lilywhites goal.
Not an ideal start for Dundalk they trail the visitors 1-0 after a corner kick leads to the opening goal of the game.

Hoban equalised for the double winners with a header 12 minutes from the end.

The home side had a chance to win it in injury time but Dane Massey scooped the ball over the bar from close range.

The return leg is in Azerbaijan next Wednesday.
