I knew after I pressed stop on the audio recorder in Glendalough that I had spoken to someone with a special talent. Hours before he lined out in his first senior start in Thurles, Cian Lynch was introduced to the listeners of Today FM's Championship Sunday. Forget about the Patrickswell clubman's heritage as a nephew of the great Ciaran and Pa Carey. This lad is unique. You'd be reluctant to big him up too much, for fear that he would feel the pressure on his shoulders that some players feel, when they are so good at a young age, but that's something he seems well capable of handling. 
Thanks to the late point by John Fitzgibbon of Adare, Limerick are now gearing up for a joust against Tipp in the Munster senior hurling semi final. Lynch bagged 3 delicious points from play in a great display of heart by Limerick that not many would have seen coming given how their Allianz League campaign fizzled out.
