Bernard Brogan says he's driven to be part of Dublin's drive for five All-Ireland Senior Football title in-a-row.
The 35-year-old recovered from a cruciate injury last summer but had a limited role during this season's National Football League.
The former footballer of the year wants to work his way back into Jim Gavin's plans this summer.
"The injury obviously knocked me back last year but I still feel I've got something to add, I'm not gone away and I'm in Jim's ear and in training, I'm moving well and competing.
"I've been fit all year, took a nice break pre Christmas to get my body right to attack this season. I would have liked to get a bit more game time in the league to get a get of momentum. I'm a forward and you get momentum from playing, striking the ball and getting scores but I really believe I've something to offer."
Brogan knows it won't be easy to get back into the side after they cruised to a 26-point victory over Louth in the Leinster quarter-finals last weekend.
"That's the challenge now, there was a great out against Louth the last day and we have a big game against Kildare or Longford coming up in a couple of weeks time, so I'll pushing hard at training to put my hand up for selection.
"I'm not one to annoy the manager and I do my talking on the pitch. I'd never try to force my way into the starting 15 by being in Jim's ear. He's very much I'm there and all I ever ask from Jim is that whoever plays well gets the jersey and that's the environment we have in the panel. It doesn't matter if I'm a bit older as long as I'm moving well I still have the chance to get a jersey and that's all you could ever want.
"When I met Jim at the start of the year I asked him if I can still add value and he agreed that I can. I was fortunate enough to have the jersey for a long time and I now have a new challenge...and I'll fight hard for it."
