Brendan Rodgers responds to rumours linking him to the Spurs job

Brendan Rodgers has addressed talk linking him with the managerial vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Leicester manager's name has been a recurring one in rumours regarding Jose Mourinho's potential replacement in North London.

But unlike Spurs, Leicester are on the verge of securing Champions League football.

Kelechi Iheanacho's 14th goal in as many games helped the Foxes come from behind to win 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace on Monday night. There's now clear daylight between Leicester and fifth placed West Ham - seven points' worth to be precise.

With that in mind, has Rodgers considered grass may be greener around the old White Hart Lane?

"It’s not something I’ve thought about. My concentration has been on football," he replied.

"My only focus is here with Leicester. We had a great win tonight and we’ll recover and get ready for our next game."

With a return to European football's top table within their grasp, Rodgers insists he's happy with life at the King Power.

"Every job that comes up, there will always be different managers speculated to go in,” the County Antrim man said.

“I have always said I absolutely love it here. Tottenham is a fantastic club, it’s one of the big clubs in this country, it’s a huge club. My focus is purely here.

"I’m at a world-class training facility, the project we’re in here, we still want to develop, we still have a lot of work to do here.

"I have a great connection with the players and the board, and we have plans to keep progressing.

"While I have that energy and the happiness and I see that challenge continue here, I am very happy to be here. You can’t stop gossip, and you can’t stop speculation. I don’t think about it.”
