Dr. Norah Patten is an aeronautical engineer and became Ireland’s first scientist-astronaut candidate with Project PoSSUM (Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere) in 2017.
She is well on her way of achieving her dream of getting to enter outer space, becoming the first Irish person to visit the cosmos!
Norah continues to inspire young girls through her work in STEM projects and her story about becoming an astronaut.
Norah has been also closely working with Colin O'Brien from the company Avanade to create the Power Up Initiative that works to encourage students to grow their capabilities and knowledge of STEM through workshops and events.
