Joshua Coombes has a simple mantra 'Do Something For Nothing'
The former hairdresser spoke to Alison Curtis on Weekend Breakfast from his home in London.
He has been all around the world cutting hair for people who are homeless.
Joshua says, "I run into the nearest café or pub and ask, ‘Can I borrow a chair?’ They say ‘why?’ and when I tell them, they often offer water and other items enthusiastically.
"It's getting the community together. I am not raising awareness I am raising compassion - the reasons people end up without a home are incredibly complex."
His experiences have now been captured in a book titled 'Do Something For Nothing' and he spoke to Weekend Breakfast all about his experience.
