Curly Watts...now there's a blast from the past.
Kevin Kennedy played the role of the unlucky in love character on Coronation Street for 20 years, retiring from the soap back in 2003. 15 years ago?? Bloomin' 'eck!
Here is in action, getting acquainted with Les Battersby's forehead:
He is currently playing Denis in the award-winning musical the Rock of Ages and will be in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from the 16th-20th of October.
Seeing as he was in town, Dermot and Dave were delighted to welcome the legend in to have some fun on Ask Me Anything.
And let me start off by saying 'that voice'. Wow. It teleported me straight back to the 90's.
Kevin told us of his Irish connections, "my Irish roots originally come from the north side", how Guinness was removed from the bar on set as it would turn some of the stars into 'a state' and how the set designers have a sharp eye for detail, "they recreated the cobbles so the puddles, when it rained, would appear in the exact same place".
There was also the wherabouts of 'Raquel', his days as a bass guitarist with a famous singer and life after Corrie, where he still gets called 'Curly' regularly but loves it, "it's a very humbling experience", "you want your work to be remembered".
He hasn't changed a bit!!
