Young people are being disproportionately affected by unemployment during the current pandemic, according to the ESRI.

The latest data shows that half of people under 25 who were working have now lost their jobs and are claiming the pandemic unemployment payment.

But other people appear to be saving money, as working from home means spending is down.

Charlie Weston, personal finance editor of the Irish Independent, joined us to look at why younger people, particularly in rural areas, seem to be disproportionately burdened.
