The Irish online privacy group Digital Rights Ireland is planning to lead a mass legal against Facebook, seeking compensation for users for the publication of their personal information online.
The names, phone numbers, email addresses, location data and biographical information of up to 533 million Facebook users was recently dumped for free on an online hacking forum.
However, DRI says the social network's response to the leak has been inadequate.
Simon McGarr of Digital Rights Ireland joined us to discuss this and the Data Protection Commissioner's request for information on Sinn Féin's collection and use of data from Facebook and the electoral register.
