Research presented at the European Congress on Obesity has indicated that gel capsules which part-fill the stomach before a meal could help people lose weight and keep it off.
Dr Ray Walley joined us for our weekly medical consultation to discuss whether diet pills really work, or if there are dangers involved in their use.
Dr Ray emphasised that there is no substitute for eating a proper balanced diet, and that pills will not work if this is not the case.
He also spoke about the dangers of pills purchased online, which can cause mental health and heart problems, and so-called 'yo-yo' diets.
