A TV advert for Tampax has been banned after 84 complaints were made to the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland.
The ad, which discussed how tampons should be inserted without causing discomfort, was accused of being offensive and over-descriptive. These complaints were upheld by the ASAI.
Other complaints, which were not upheld, claimed that the ad was demeaning to women, contained sexual innuendo or was unsuitable for children.
Brianna Parkins and Donal O'Donoghue joined us for The Week Trending to discuss this and some of the other stories making headlines.
