Minister Damien English has been criticised for saying that "clothes are not essential" during an appearance on Prime Time last night.
He insisted that the essential and non-essential retail list was not confusing, despite presenter Miriam O'Callaghan pointing out that she could buy a bottle of wine, but not a pair of socks for her son.
Does the government need to provide more clarity on which items are classed as essential? And should supermarkets be allowed to keep their clothing aisles open?
