Donald Trump has hit back at a tweet from Barack Obama in which he took credit for the economic boom.
In a tweet of his own, Trump described Obama's claim as a "con job" and said that his own administration had been responsible for the growth.
In an appearance on CNN, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro also insisted that the economy was bad under the Obama years, but host Poppy Harlow displayed numbers showing that growth was in fact stronger than it has been under Trump.
Cal Thomas and Marion McKeone discussed this and more from the United States, including Michael Bloomberg's first Democratic debate and the controversy over past comments he has made.
