A terminally ill father of three is fighting for an explanation from the HSE as to why his medical card has been revoked twice since his diagnosis.
John Wall was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer two years ago.
Despite being entitled to a medical card without a means test due to the nature of his illness, it was twice revoked by the HSE.
He decided to go public with his story, not just for himself, but also for others who have found themselves in similar situations.
Although his medical card has since been reinstated without prejudice, "For so many others, they're in limbo, and I intend to use my voice on their behalf."
John says he has had excellent support from his own employer throughout his illness, but that there are other people who don't have the same level of support, financially or psychologically.
"The state needs to do more for those who have done so much for their own communities."
