Education Minister Joe McHugh is in the United Arab Emirates as part of the government's efforts to encourage Irish teachers working abroad to return home.

He will attend two town hall meetings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the coming days with the aim of understanding the key issues for teachers considering a return to Ireland.

But should they come back if it would mean earning less money here?

John Boyle, general secretary of the Irish Teachers Organisation, former teacher and recruiter Richie Hogan, and Maria Brett, a teacher working in Vietnam, joined us to discuss this.
