Have you ever wondered what it's like to work as an intensive care doctor?
Aoife Abbey, who used to blog as The Secret Doctor, does just that.
She has written a book, Seven Signs of Life: Stories from an Intensive Care Doctor, which details some of her experiences from working in various hospitals around England.
Aoife joined us on The Last Word to talk about the pressures and responsibilities of the job.
"You get used to a certain amount of it, but certainly there is a pressure."
"You always have hanging over you the idea that every single encounter you have with a patient is potentially incredibly important to them. I might have that same encounter ten times in a week, but for them it's their make or break moment."
