Richard Osman is best known as the co-host of the BBC game show Pointless.
He has now turned his hand to crime fiction writing with the publication of his debut novel, The Thursday Murder Club.
The book follows four elderly friends living in a retirement village who team up to solve a series of cold cases. When a local property developer is murdered, they find themselves investigating their first live case.
Film rights were sold to Steven Spielberg's production company Amblin Partners before a single copy of the book was sold.
Richard joined us on The Last Word to talk about his journey into crime fiction.
