Pubs that don't serve food have finally been given the green light to open, with a date set for 21 September.
Social distancing measures will be implemented and there will be a 'table service only' requirement. Customer records will also be retained to facilitate contact tracing.
However, there is speculation that Dublin and Limerick could be heading for lockdown due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, which could impact on plans to reopen pubs in these counties.
