The Irish Car Carbon Reduction Alliance (ICCRA) has strongly criticised the Programme for Government put forward by Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Green Party.
Under the programme, the registration of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned after 2030 and they will be "phased out" in cities.
The ICCRA says that, while it supports the Government's commitment to addressing climate change, the proposed ban on petrol and diesel cars is counterproductive.
Michael Sheridan was joined by ICCRA spokesman Denis Murphy to discuss this in our motoring slot.
