The HSE is putting plans in place to administer COVID-19 vaccines to pregnant women.
It follows recommendations that pregnant women at between 14 to 36 weeks gestation be offered a vaccine after consulting their doctor.
Maternity hospitals are currently identifying patients who are at a suitable point in gestation, and the vaccines will be administered in mass vaccination centres rather than by GPs.
Priscilla Lynch, clinical editor of the Medical Independent, joined us to discuss this and other updates from the latest HSE COVID-19 briefing.
