The Government is due to publish a 'green list' of countries to which it is safe to travel.
People coming into Ireland from countries on the list will not have to restrict their movements after they arrive.
However, people are still being advised not to undertake non-essential travel, and those who do so are being warned that they will have no insurance cover even if their destination is on the 'green list'.
Catherine Motherway of the Intensive Care Society of Ireland, Ciaran Mulligan of Blue Insurance and Sinn Féin spokesperson on transport Darren O'Rourke joined us to discuss this.
