NPHET has recommended new restrictions on house visits for the entire country.
People will now be able to have a maximum of six visitors from just one other household, bringing the rest of the country into line with Dublin and Donegal. The limit was previously six visitors from three other households.
The decision comes as case numbers continue to rise.
