Neil Jordan is known for being one of Ireland's finest film directors, but he's also a novelist.
His latest novel is The Ballad of Lord Edward and Citizen Small, a reimagining of the real-life friendship between Irish nobleman Lord Edward Fitzgerald, who dies after being arrested for his role in the 1798 rebellion, and runaway American slave Tony Small.
He joined us on The Last Word to talk about the story, keeping busy during the pandemic and why Hollywood "would never make Michael Collins these days".
