Following weekend scenes of drinkers packed closely together on Dame Lane in Dublin, there have been calls for all pubs that were allowed to reopen last week to be temporarily closed again.
In an article for thejournal.ie, Professor Ruairi Brugha from the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences said that closing pubs would give the country time to prevent a second wave of COVID-19 "spiralling out of control when it inevitably hits us."
Meanwhile, the Vintners Federation of Ireland today called for the Government to publish guidelines for pubs that are due to reopen on 20 July.
Professor Brugha and Padraig Cribben, CEO of the Vintners Federation of Ireland, both joined us to discuss this.
