The music world is in mourning after news broke yesterday of the death of Mark Hollis, lead singer with Talk Talk. He was 64 years old.
Hollis and his bandmates rose to fame in the 1980s with hit singles such as 'It's My Life', 'Today' and 'Life's What You Make It'.
Their 1988 album Spirit of Eden was hailed as a masterpiece.
Hollis was an unlikely pop star in that he rejected the idea of celebrity, preferring to stay out of the limelight and refusing to "play that game", as he stated in an interview with Q magazine.
His last known music was created for the TV drama Boss, starring Kelsey Grammer.
John Caddell and Larissa Nolan discussed Hollis's legacy in our weekly music slot.
