A phone call transcript has revealed that Donald Trump put pressure on Ukrainian president Volodymr Zelensky to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
The Democrats have now begun impeachment proceedings against Trump as a result.
The editorial in the latest edition of The Economist asserts that Trump "has subverted the national interest to pursue a political vendetta".
