Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has come under further pressure as the Garda investigation into his alleged leaking of confidential documents continues.
Senior Fine Gael sources have confirmed that both those close to Mr Varadkar and backbenchers are concerned about damage to the party after weeks of leaks from the investigation in Sunday newspapers.
It also emerged that Leo Varadkar has been given armed Garda protection after receiving several credible death threats.
