Irish army rangers have been sent to Afghanistan to help evacuate Irish citizens through Kabul airport.
It's reported that nine rangers will be arriving at the airport with two officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
A total of ten Irish citizens have been evacuated from Afghanistan since the Taliban took over the country's capital over a week ago, with thirty-four more waiting to leave the country.

Dr Afghan and his wife have fifteen immediate family members stuck in Afghanistan and he says he fears for their safety every day.
