Have you ever had a peaceful train journey disturbed by someone playing music or watching videos without headphones?
Irish Rail is now cracking down on passengers who do just this. Barry Kenny joined us to explain how.
Excessive noise on trains is an issue that is growing, and Irish Rail are introducing customer service officers across intercity services, whose job it will be "to encourage an environment of respect and point out to people the need to be considerate on board."
If further problems do arise, and a passenger refuses to cooperate and turn the noise levels down, Barry says the penalty will be a €100 fine, which is the same as for fare evasion.
