However, the 35-0 scoreline didn't tell the whole story, with supporters expressing concern about the poor quality of the performance.
Ireland conceded 22 turnovers and struggled against the 20th-ranked team in the world, who also spent 20 minutes of the game with 14 players due to yellow cards.
