Ireland is now number one in the world for use of onshore wind power.
Public consultation has recently opened on what promises to be the country's largest wind farm, to be located 13 km off the Wicklow coast and capable of powering 1.2 million homes.
This and similar planned developments put Ireland on track to have 70% of our national electricity supplies generated by clean, locally produced sources.
But is this too good to be true?
