Minister for Children Roderic O'Gorman has issued a statement in response to "homophobic" online abuse he has received, accusing him of associating with an alleged "paedophile apologist".
He has been criticised in recent days for marching alongside LGBT rights campaigner Peter Tatchell at Dublin's Pride march two years ago.
Peter Tatchell wrote a letter to The Guardian in 1997, in which he was quoted as saying that some of his friends had made a "conscious choice" to have sex with an adult when they were under the age of 13.
He has since claimed that the letter was edited, and that his additional comment about paedophilia being "impossible to condone" had been ignored.
He joined us on The Last Word to address the issue.
