Taoiseach Micheál Martin is facing criticism from fellow Fianna Fáil TDs over his apparent lack of leadership.
In a parliamentary party meeting, he was urged to stop conducting joint press conferences with Leo Varadkar and to end the daily COVID-19 briefings as they were scaring the public.
He was also told that ministers should take the lead on informing the public about the latest guidelines.
