Many parents struggle to afford the cost of childcare, while those working in the sector are fighting for better pay and conditions.
To discuss the issues involved, we were joined by Heather Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation and Fine Gael TD for Cavan-Monaghan, Anne Rabbitte, Fianna Fáil candidate for Galway East and spokesperson on Children and Youth Affairs, and Sheila Garrity, lecturer in Early Childhood Studies at the UNESCO Child & Family Research Centre at NUIG.
