Donald Trump has declared a national emergency in order to fund the building of his planned US-Mexico border wall.
The President made the announcement from the White House Rose Garden, describing illegal immigration as "an invasion of our country."
The declaration means that Trump will bypass Congress and look to use money from military projects to fund the wall.
As expected, the move has been condemned by Democrats, but also by Republicans who warn that it will set a dangerous precedent. Trump himself has stated that he expects to be sued.
