Former police officer Derek Chauvin has gone on trial in the United States for the murder of George Floyd.
Floyd died last summer after Chauvin knelt on his neck for over nine minutes, with prosecutor Jerry Blackwell telling the jury that Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd's neck even after he had stopped breathing.
The incident reignited the Black Lives Matter movement in the US and sparked months of protests around the world.
Cal Thomas and Marion McKeone discussed this and more in our weekly US slot.
