A British court has ruled that people born in Northern Ireland are legally British, even if they identify as Irish under the rights granted by the Good Friday Agreement.
They will also continue to be recognised as British unless they register a change in their citizenship.
The case in question was taken by Emma DeSouza, a Derry woman who identified herself as Irish on a residency application for her American-born husband.
