Now You See Me is a new four-part documentary series starting on RTÉ One tonight which looks at cycling in Ireland.
Simon Delaney and Blathnaid Treacy, who both present the programme, joined us on The Last Word to discuss what they learned about the relationship between cyclists and motorists and their shared use of the roads.
Blathnaid travelled all over Europe for the series to see how cycling works in other countries, and in tonight's opening episode she visits Copenhagen, where there are segregated bike lanes all over the city and cyclists have their own traffic lights.
She says, "It's incredible seeing everyone working so harmoniously together, because cyclists and motorists never connect."
Simon adds, "The thing with this programme is, we're not banging the drum for cyclists, or for motorists or pedestrians."
"The message that comes across in the show is that it's a shared environment. We're all using the roads together. Drivers don't own the roads, no more than cyclists own the roads."
