Many members of the music industry have been taking part in the #BlackoutTuesday initiative in response to the murders of black citizens by the police.
The action, accompanied by the hashtag #TheShowMustBePaused, calls for a day to disconnect from work. It was started by music industry executives Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang "in observance of the long-standing racism and inequality that exists from the boardroom to the boulevard."
They add that "we will not continue to conduct business as usual without regard for Black lives."
Major labels and individual musicians have lent their support to the blackout.

John Caddell and Dee Reddy discussed this in our weekly music slot.
