Joe Biden is facing a migration challenge, with more than 3,250 children in custody along the US-Mexico border.
The number of children currently in detention facilities at the border has tripled in the last two weeks according to federal immigration agency documents obtained by The New York Times.
Biden has proposed overhauling the country's decades-old immigration system, and has already announced that migrants rejected after January 2020 under Donald Trump's travel ban could try to obtain visas without paying additional fees.
