As the Democrats begin impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump, Attorney General William Barr and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo both appear to be implicated in the controversy.
According to multiple reports, Barr and Pompeo were involved in contacts between Trump and at least four other world leaders. These were in relation to Joe Biden and the US intelligence agencies' examination of Russian interference in the last election.
It has also been reported that Pompeo was among those who listened in on Trump's phone call with the Ukrainian president.
