Trinity College Dublin's Historical Society decided to rescind its invitation to Professor Richard Dawkins to address the society next year, citing his opinions on Islam and sexual assault.
Announcing the cancellation, auditor Bríd O'Donnell said she had been unaware of these opinions previously and that the society "will not be moving ahead with his address as we value our members' comfort above all else."
