The owners of the Dean Hotel have confirmed that the case taken against them by Fine Gael TD Maria Bailey has been officially withdrawn.
She had lodged a personal injuries claim against the hotel after falling off a swing on the premises in 2015.
It was also confirmed that a Fine Gael review of the claim is being undertaken, which will be completed by the end of next week, and that Maria Bailey is set to fully cooperate.
Speaking about the incident on The Last Word, Fine Gael TD Alan Farrell said he has "a great deal of sympathy for her personally and for her family."
"There's been an awful lot of online trolling, so I can only assume that it's been a very tough week."
He added: "Just because you hold public office shouldn't debar you from defending and vindicating your rights."
He was joined on the programme by People Before Profit TD Brid Smith to discuss the Climate Emergency Measures Bill and political commitment to the green agenda.
