Over 70% of people believe those who contract COVID-19 have been careless or reckless in following public health advice, according to an ESRI survey.
The survey also found that 44% didn't know it was free to call their GP to discuss symptoms, while over a third thought they could be charged for a test.
Meanwhile the HSE's chief executive Paul Reid has warned that eliminating the virus from Ireland is not realistic and that we must learn to live with it.
