An RTÉ Investigates programme has reported that up to 6,000 greyhounds are being culled each year for not being fast enough.
It also revealed that the Irish greyhound industry is breeding 1,000% more puppies than it needs.
The information comes from a confidential business analysis report prepared for the Irish Greyhound Board by the consultants Preferred Results Ltd.
