Normal People has quickly became one of the most talked about TV shows around the world.
Lenny Abrahamson directed the first six episodes of the hit show and speaking to The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show the Oscar nominated director said, "There's no way we could have imagined that it would become the thing it's become."
Over the past few months Abrahamson says there has been no escaping Normal People and credits the success of the show in no small part to the incredible book of the same name by Sally Rooney the show is based on and the stars of the show Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Abrahamson is no stranger to a tux having previously been nominated for an Oscar and more award nominations are sure to follow for Normal People, although this time round he may well be attending the ceremonies via Zoom.
