Some people really made the most of lockdown didn't they!?
In March 2020, Dubliner Dwayne Edgar was laid off work due to the pandemic. While the rest of us were watching Netflix and baking banana bread, Dwayne and his childhood best friend Karl Taaffe were cooking up an idea for a new community project.
In August 2020, they launched the Inner City Running Club with a goal to help people of all abilities get out and get active.
A year on from their first session, they now train up to 700 people a week, all for free!
Dwayne and Karl chatted to Alison Curtis this morning and told her all about the evolution of the club and their big trip to compete in the Rome Marathon next month.
It wasn't Dwayne's first time in the spotlight either, as Alison caught him off guard with a clip of his famous X-Factor audition 11 years ago. His reaction was priceless!
