"The mind is a lonely place. I've got stuff on mine and this is that story"
Fourteen years ago, James Blunt burst onto the music scene with a Beautiful heart-breaking song and a very dramatic cliff dive.
It's a scene that is etched in many of our minds and brings us back to a certain time in our lives.
Fast forward to 2019 and the former Army Captain has just released his 6th studio Album 'Once Upon A Mind', a continuation from where his debut album 'Back To Bedlam' left off.
Speaking on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, Blunt describes his most personal work to date as, "the circle of life playing out in front of me".
The 11 tracks offer a vivid window into his mind and emotional state. This sentence from one of his Instagram posts conveys just that:
'What it all adds to is that there are consequences to leaving my family behind me while I go off touring the world. I'm struggling with my father's mortality, but perhaps children make up for that'

My record label asked me what my new album Once Upon A Mind is about. Here’s the story...
James continues by explaining the concept behind the video for his song 'Cold', "fourteen years ago I jumped off the cliff in 'You're Beautiful', having taken most of my clothes off, and fourteen years later we find me in the water and I make my way back to land".

What's even more amazing than finding out what actually happened next in the story, is the revelation that he wore the exact same clothes in the newer video;
I've had them hanging up in my cupboard for 14 years
Like a fine wine Jimmy!!
