Cork is some craic lads!!!!
As part of the Today FM #CorkTakeover, the Breakfast Show headed for 'The People's Republic of Cork' (as they like to call it) for a live show and it was insane!!
From the second the audience members started to gather there was a real buzz in the Electric venue and we knew we were in for a treat or ten.
After an amazing first series, The Young Offenders has become one of Ireland's favourite TV shows and one of our best comedies in a loooong time. Possibly the best since Father Ted.
So this morning, we were delighted to welcome Hilary Rose (who play's Conor's mum Mairead) and Shane Casey (aka Billy Murphy) on to the show to tell us all about show that has taken the country by storm.
Hilary chats about her role as 'Mairead' and why people seem to gravitate towards her, "like she's a struggling mum doing her best".
Shane also reveals how his character has become a hero in the rebel county, and beyond, and how #ImBillyMurphy is even becoming a franchise of it's own.
The Frank and Walters were there to close out the show with their beautiful song 'After All', and there wasn't a dry eye in the house (well I was crying anyway).
The place was hopping!!
Roll on the second series is all I can say *sprints to the closest barbers for a 'scut cut'*
